Cambridge A Level (9489)

To accommodate requests for practice papers for Paper 1: Section B American option for students taking the A Level exam in June 2023, I have modeled several examples of possible document questions based on papers available. Topic 1: wealth & capital

Topic 2: Power & urbanisation

This paper has three text sources and one cartoon source. The three text sources are Jacob Riis, How the Other Half Lives (1890), Andrew Carnegie on “The Triumph of America” (1885), and a report by the Tenement House Reform in New York (1900).

Topic 3: African American Rights

This paper has four text sources. The sources are Booker T. Washington on Black progress (1895), Ida B. Wells-Barnett, “Lynch Law in America” (1900), W.E.B. DuBois on Black progress (1903), and Andrew Carnegie on “The Triumph of America” (1885).
