Reviews

“Judith Perera is one of nature's true natural talents. In this tale of childhoods thrown up in the air, she brings to life one of the most revolutionary and important eras in human history. I would highly recommend anything that Judith writes. A very enjoyable read.” ~ Tim Garlick (December 2021)

“The story of forest children was captivating and I hope it will instil in young readers the need to respect nature. The forest children’s story starts with what I consider as Utopia and takes you to the nightmarish experience of ‘civilisation’ which thrives on the destruction of trees and the habitat of animals and birds. The world still pays only lip service to the need for a reversal of such destruction. Young readers will no doubt learn the lesson and bear the torch of ecology to greater heights.” ~ Anonymous (December 2021)

“A carefully detailed story about children who belong in a forest but are forced to live in civilization. Through the children's young and innocent eyes, it condemns the people who destroy the forest in their greed, and this is also a beautiful tale that explores the truth of who you are and where you belong, even if it goes against the typical standards of society. I would recommend it to young readers. Older readers might find that the passage of time is not clearly conveyed, only stated occasionally, and that the plot changes too abruptly and unexpectedly at times. All in all, though, a lovely story.” ~ Anonymous (December 2021)

“A very interesting, page-turning, adventurous children's book. Looking forward to reading more adventurous books like this one! Very well written, and all the best for your future endeavors.” ~ Anonymous (January 2022)

“I enjoyed the depth in which the author astutely described the indigenous peoples’ lives. It felt very unique and brought to light a whole new perspective – a very strong aspect of the book. My captivation of this book was further enhanced by the level of detail that radiated in the contrast between the jungle dwellers and the city inhabitants. Although the story is penned in a second person narrative (focusing mostly on Nili), the narrator was from the jungle. The subtle nature of this approached cemented my belief. I would have liked to see more description of events that took place in the king's castle. I rejoiced in the episode where the children didn't understand why the courtiers were bowing down to them! Such vivid portrays make the story more amusing and entertaining.” ~ Arun (February 2022)

“I wanted to give you an review. I loved the book! It was really enjoyable. I can't say anything bad about this book! It's just so good! I liked that you did it about the stone ages(?). Please publish more books in the future, I will be compelled to read them!” ~ Mikayla (March 2022)

“The book was epic, everytime before I go to bed, I read it, it was so funny at the same time, it was a very nice book that I could not bring myself out of the book for a few seconds, so I say this book is going to be a five star book.” ~ Lizanne (March 2022)

“I loved this book because it helps today's society to see a different perspective on Stone Age people and it isn't the stereotypical stuff which many people actually believe! Its really sweet to see Nili acting like the ''mother'' of the pack and how thoughtful and caring she is towards her siblings.” ~ Haniya (March 2022)

“A trip to the city is a very captivating book that I really enjoyed. My favourite characters are the twins and my favourite part of the book is when the twins kicked the short man and when the children were were escaping from the picnic. I love reading the childrens' witty replies to comments from people they dislike. I particularly like how the author has written about a time that is not very popular in books. She is giving us information about the Stone Age while making us laugh simultaneously! This book is thoroughly intriguing and I would recommend it to young learners everywhere. I hope the author decides to make a sizeable series to follow up on what happened to the characters because if so, I will most probably be first in line to get it! Overall, I would recommend this delightful novel to young readers around the world but I must warn you, once you start reading it, you can never stop! Kudos to Judith Perera for creating such a pleasurable book to brighten the lives of many youths.” ~ Aneka (March 2022)

“It was an amazing book, it was very interesting. I didn't want to stop reading once i started the book. There were some sad parts and some funny but overall I truly loved it...” ~ Amber (March 2022)

“I read your book and I think that book was amazing because I never thought there would be a fictional book of the time of STONE AGE so it was really a fresh experience to read this book. Also, I think it described the differences between a kingdom and a tribe in an exciting way. Hope your book would be a bestseller one day!” ~ Ben (March 2022)

“This book was very interesting and provided good facts about the Stone Age. I personally really enjoyed the book and was able to picture the whole story well in my head. I can’t wait for another book by Ms.Judith.” ~ Lana (March 2022)

“The author of the book, Ms. Judith did an amazing job in writing it! It’s one of the best books I’ve read! I loved how the children got along so well, it’s so heart warming to see all of them going on adventures and how they protect each other. The way she wrote the words…it made me feel like I was actually there! It was just so creative yet historical at the same time! I recommend this book to everyone as it is an amazing book!” ~ Neja (March 2022)

“It was an amazing read and I enjoyed the book very much. My favourite part was when the twins kicked the short man when he bowed to them.It was also quite funny at some parts and I recommend it.” ~ Anjana (March 2022)

“I love this book and recommend it. The story is a funny adventurous book which tells the story of kids that get brought to the city. I loved every word in this book and understood this book very well. I totally recommend 5 stars!” ~ Amy (March 2022)

“This book was awesome and I enjoyed it alot, I keep this book in the shelf, I always look at along with my Harry Potter books. After reading this, I finished it the day I recieved for free, I decided it must be one of my favorite books. This story relates a lot to real life and myself, My little sister says I act just like Nilli. Nilli is my favorite character though, I like all the characters, not the two women teachers and the men so much. I really advice you to write a new book part of this series because I really want to know what happened after they got home, Did the women find them? I have a lot of questions anyway.” ~ Tinaya (March 2022)
